Dear Michael and Tanner, I found out about your story and this powerful website through an email about the Bank of America BLT golf tournament. I am on the BLT team and am currently on maternity leave. Your story touched me, as it has so apparently touched many others. As I read through your journal entries, watched the video, and saw the beautiful pictures of your Sweet Baby Caroline, tears continued to stream down my face. My heart aches for you and your family. Your experience hits close to home as birth and death are all around me - I just gave birth to my first baby (a girl) 11 weeks ago and the 2nd anniversary of my brother's death is next week. Thank God, my daughter is healthy and reading your story has impressed upon me the great gift and blessing of her health. It has made me hold on to her tighter and give praise for her health. I know what it's like to loose a loved one. As I experienced through my brother's passing, God works in mysterious ways. Through extreme heartache comes miracles and a multitude of blessings we may never even know or understand. I know Caroline has touched many through fund raisers for great causes and has taught others about Christ as they watch you survive and grow through your faith. I pray for your continued healing and peace. I know Caroline is an angel in Heaven watching over you every day and smiling at how you've turned this tragedy into something positive.

Dear Michael and Tanner, I have just been called by Holly to read your web page about your beautiful baby girl Caroline. I have been reading about her long journey and I am in awe of her courage and strenghth and what she obviously meant to everyone who loved her. Earl & I have a 7 1/2 yr old daughter Paige, and a 31/2 yr old son Conner. Your daughter's story will make me hug them a little tighter and since it took us 10 years to have Paige, I couldn't love either of them any more. Michael, I am so glad you have your faith and your love of God to give you and Tanner strength to move on. I'm not sure I could do the same. I'm glad you have a wonderful and supportive wife in Tanner. By your words in your web entries, she sounds like a wonderful mother and wife. Caroline would be proud to be your daughter. Anyone could see by Kathryn what good and loving parents you both are, I am sure Sue and your dad are proud of you Michael. I was truly touched by your daughter's journey through her short life and the journey to everlasting life with Jesus. God Bless You all and may God continue to give you both the courage and strength to continue to rejoice in the difference Caroline's struggle has meant to so many. I am proud to have known you Michael and the father and husband you have become. I will remember you and your family in my prayers and hope your daughter Kathryn always remembers what her sister's death meant to the world. Never give up on your faith in God. Love, Marisa (Holly's sister in case you forgot who I was) Ha! Ha!

Michael, Tanner and Kathryn - You guys have been in our thoughts and prayers so much this month. It seems like yesterday yet it also seems so far away - all at the same time. I've added your Web page to my mom's CaringBridge Web site. You all have been a source of inspiration of hope and faith and I couldn't resist linking Caroline's page to my mom's journey. You guys are the greatest! Much love always, The Scalises
